Boy A
I was looking for a good film to watch and so I found one at IMDB.com entitled “Boy A“. While most people love films with special effects, me, on the other hand, appreciates films with heart.
The story revolves around a boy, Jack Burridge - formerly known as Eric, played by Andrew Garfield, who was released from jail at 24 years old, after being imprisoned for 14 years for a crime that him and his former best friend committed when they were really young.
Jack tries to rise up and own up to his new name, new address, new life. He tried to determine who he wants to be, now that he is given a new chance to life, but it is still up to the people surrounding him to allow him to do so. In his struggle to fit in to society, he finds that there is a chance for a life of love and support.
The film is an emotional ride, where we grow to like Jack Burridge. He even saved a little girl’s life from a vehicular accident. His counsellor, Terry, believed that he will be able to adjust well to his new identity and Jack slowly believes him but still have doubts because his past haunts him.
I don’t think I will watch the film again, as I found it quite depressing, but with that said, I am really glad to have seen it. I think Hollywood should do away with so many special effects and focus on issues that matter. The film deserved its 5 wins out of 7 nominations.

I also think movies with heart are way better than movies with just a bunch of special effects. Some of my favourite movies don’t have a single special effect in them. Action movies are way overrated in my opinion. I like to watch movies which makes me laugh, cry, love, hate and generally just feel for the characters. That’s kinda hard to do watching movies like Die Hard.
Boy A sounds like a interesting movie. Perhaps I’ll check it out.

It sounds like a really interesting movies. I love depressing movies for some reason, so I’m definitely checking this out. I’m not much of a fan of special effects either, but it’s fun to watch a movie with a bunch of explosions every once in a while.

Hmm…It sounds pretty interesting, and I agree that they should have more films that revolve around subjects that matter. I’ve been really outdated with movies lately, butu I’ll probably watch this one on my computer…I don’t think I’d find anyone who’d be interested in watching it. =\
