Fight In The Shade

Sunday, we went to Shangri-La Plaza to meet Ryan’s cousin, Janna. I bought her iPod Shuffle (1GB). It’s still brand new and sealed. Her mom sent it to her from the US, but since she already has one, she opted to sell it. Then we headed to SM Megamall for coffee at Seattle’s Best. After an hour of chilling out, Ryan and I went to the cinema to watch a movie.

300When I heard about the film “300″, I got really curious. My friend showed me the link to its trailer and I watched and listened to it using my computer headphones. It actually gave me the chills. The three-minute trailer left me wanting more. I heard a lot of positive reviews from friends, so Ryan and I were excited to see the film.

The film is a jaw-dropper. The trailer did not leave any empty promises. The CGI effects are amazing, totally breathtaking. The highlights can be expected in the fight scenes. It was flawlessly executed. The visual effects are really visually enticing. The sound effects were impeccable. I can just say that it is truly a masterpiece. A must see!

This movie is actually based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller1 If you actually listen to the dialogues and understand the storyline, you will really appreciate the film.

Near the end, where Dilios2 was narrating the last part of the story, I felt my eyes get misty. Yes, the film actually made me cry. The movie Gladiator made me cry, too, but compared to this film, Gladiator seems like child’s play.

I highly recommend that you watch 300. It’s best to see this in the big screen, and if you can, watch it at iMAX. Go see the film, you won’t be disappointed. It’s actually the first blockbuster film of 2007.

  1. Frank Miller was a big comics writer/artist in the 70s and 80s. He also created Sin City. []
  2. played by David Wenham []

The thing is, the file is 1.37GB and it would probably take years for it to get encoded in DVD format. So I don’t know how I’m going to be able to give you a copy.

I heard about this movie “300″. Many of my friends were trying to explain what it is about to me, and I heard it was breath taking. I might have to actually sit down and watch the trailer to it because everyone keeps talking about how good this movie is.

Sorry it’s taken a while for me to post my despair.nu comment, but my internet crashed o_0

Ooh, the film looks really good! Unfortunately, the iMax near us closed about a year ago, but I’m sure it’ll still be good in a bog standard cinema :D Hope that you and Ryan had a good time at the cinema!

300 is one of my favorite 2007 films. =]

anyway, about the shirt, we used silk screening to print them. So yes, to the textile paints. Except my teacher hates it when we refer to it as paint. We’re supposed to say “Ink”
