He Turned 54

My dad celebrated his 54th birthday yesterday, March 17. I was so tired yesterday because when I woke up, I had to help my mom clean the house. In addition, I had to wash mountains of dishes. Okay, I am exaggerating, but it was a LOT. My cousin’s husband prepared a lot of food. He’s a cook for a local restaurant. Most of the dishes are seafood. We had grilled fish, kaldereta, shrimp, Chicken ala Pobre, spaghetti, cake and ice cream.

My dad came from work and arrived home by 8pm. He was surprised to see the birthday banner I made for him. We sang the birthday song and I prepared his plate for dinner. I think my dad was quite happy with the turnout. He didn’t invite anyone to come to his birthday celebration. He said, anyone who remembers is welcome to come and eat. His closest friends came over tonight. The party ended by 12 midnight. My dad was quite tired because he just came home. He works 5 days away from us and his shift is always 2 shifts a day.

I am glad that all our hard work paid off. We all had to wake up extra early to prepare for my dad’s special day. Next month, it will be my mom’s 52nd birthday. Another feast!
