Spider-Man 3
No Spoilers here! Just a review.
Yesterday, Ryan and I went to see Spider-Man 3 on IMAX at the Mall of Asia. Last week, when we reserved seats, the dates from May 1 to 6 was mostly sold out! We were lucky enough to get seats for the 1:30pm screening yesterday. The cinema was packed with people of all ages, sizes and orientation. *lol*
I was really expecting a lot of good things from this 3rd installment because I have been hearing a lot of great reviews online and from friends. The truth is, I am not even a big fan of Spider-Man, Ryan is. But seeing this film made me appreciate his character. It’s really a plus that they were able to interpret Spider-Man’s humanness, even with the suit.
Sam Raimi made the right decision when he included Venom (Topher Grace) in this installment. When I learned that Topher would play Venom, I was skeptic and I couldn’t imagine how he would adapt himself in the character. He did a great job. He was believable as a villain. Thomas Haden Church being the Sandman, made the film more interesting to watch. Of course, it was a little unbelievable when he didn’t even die when he was caught between a scientific experiment, but it’s still a great thing that he retained his good heart, a father who only want to help his daughter.
One thing though, when Peter was the black spidey, he wasn’t that aggressive. Still, there are parts of the film, when he was walking along the streets of New York, that were hilarious! Watch out for his dancing stint! Well, two things. The meteor that contained the black ink-like creature was never explained. I mean, they never mentioned where it came from. I wanted to know! Oh well…
As always expected, MJ is always the damsel in distress hanging for dear life from a a very high tangled web. *rolls eyes*
But enough of that. Every moment of the film is a must see. The effects were amazing, but was still believable. Spidey in the black suit was awesomely sexy! (and so emo! gah…) This movie, I would say, is the best among the trilogy, and if this was the only movie shown of the three, I would still say it’s amazing. All the characters were portrayed perfectly, and in the end found their true selves. I think that’s one of the things I loved in this film. They made sure that each character tied their loose ends before the film ended.

Quotes I liked from the movie:
MJ: We’ve all done terrible things to each other, but we have to forgive each other. Or everything we ever were will mean nothing.
Peter Parker: I don’t need your help.
MJ: Everybody needs help. Even Spider-Man.Peter Parker: I don’t know what to do…
Aunt May: I’m sure you’ll find it within yourself to do the right thing.
Now, now… I don’t want to spoil your fun, but but… if you don’t want to know this last part, do not highlight the white space between the dividers! ;)

Harry Osborne died in the arms of Mary Jane, and still was able to settle their (Peter & Harry) differences before he lost his last breath. Harry was a best friend anyone could ever have. He sacrificed his life to save Peter.
…and Peter?
I love the fact that after all the super powers and added *alien capabilities*, he still sustained the heart of an ordinary human being. He was first to cry when Harry died.

Hahaha He DOES look emo! Which reminds me… I had to explain what “emo” meant to my parents a couple of days ago… that was an interesting conversation… =P
Anyways, I can’t wait to see it! I thought the first one was better than the second one but I hope that this one is the best of the three :D
