Boracay 2011: My Last Summer Hurrah!

My 4-day summer trip to Boracay Island was over in a flash. I can’t believe that I am back to reality. It was my second time in Boracay and it was better this time around. I will be posting an update to My Boracay Guide because it’s a little bit outdated from my 2009 trip.

Boracay Adventure 2011

After months of waiting, my trip to Boracay is only a day away. I am hoping that this typhoon-free weather will stay until I come back home from the trip. Planning for the trip was very stressful for me. I had to shell out money for my boyfriend’s friends for the accommodation. They were supposed to pay me back last Monday, but until now, I haven’t heard anything from them. So basically, my pocket money is non-existent.

My boyfriend promised to pay for everything on my first day because my salary is on the 30th. I don’t plan on spending on pasalubong1, anyway. It’s not our first time there, so we’ve already bought stuff from the island. What I want to buy are pearl rosaries. The one we had at home, I gave to my niece in the US, so I am going to replace that.

Hopefully, the sun will continue to shine. I want to experience the activities in the island that we didn’t get to do the last time we were there. Like parasailing, helmet diving, and Zipline at Fairways and Bluewater. I also want to get a well-deserved massage while I’m there.

I will post my Boracay experience when I get back. I’ll probably tweet a lot, so follow me to get blow-by-blow updates!

Planning for Boracay

My first visit to Boracay was in 2009. I am not sure how accurate my Boracay guide is now, but it’s something to start with. This time, I will be in the company of Ryan’s friends. We’re going to be 9.

In my opinion, traveling to the beach should always be a group adventure. It saves you a whole lot of money. The costs for accommodations, food, beach activities, etc, are divided into smaller amounts, which is super budget-friendly. I intend to bring Php5,000. I think that’s more than enough. I don’t intend to buy stuff that I don’t need. I only want some pearl rosaries to bring home, and maybe, some razorbacks.

The rainy season has come, but I am still hoping for a pleasant weather when we fly to Boracay by the end of June. I want to explore the island more than I did before. Hopefully, it will be a vacation to remember.

My Boracay Guide

Keep in mind that when I went to Boracay, it was my very first time. I was the girl who text messaged all of her friends asking if they’ve been to Boracay and asked how much budget should I have, what hotels should I check out, and which airline should I choose to fly with. I didn’t get a lot of help, because some of them actually forgot their vacation details… so, as an online girl, I had to use the only means that will turn up a lot of results when I type “Boracay guide“.

I scoured different message boards, but the best place that I found was Female Network’s Girltalk. They were on their 10th Boracay thread when I joined in the exchange of feedback about Boracay. I had to back read a lot of times because I didn’t to be the n00b who asked the same questions that have been answered before. But, I’m not here to tell a story about that. This entry is my guide to Boracay!

My Boracay Escapade

Day 1 – May 19

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)
We arrived at NAIA at 9:30AM to check-in and get our boarding passes. Ryan’s friend, Harold, who works at NAIA, accompanied us to the Cebu Pacific check-in area at Terminal 3. After getting our boarding pass, we went to the 2nd floor to get food. Our flight was at 12:05nn, so we had plenty of time to tour the terminal. By 10:45am, we headed to the departure area to wait for our boarding time at 11:35am.

Off to the beach

A few hours from now, I will be landing in one of the pristine beaches of the Philippines, Boracay. This will be my last attempt for a summer vacation, as summer ended here this May. It will be my first time there, so I am quite excited.

I will be updating my blog as often as I can. There is free wi-fi in our hotel ;)

I will be posting a Boracay guide when I get back. I want to help the first-timers, too, just like the Boraddicts did for me. If you want to know anything, just post your questions in the comments area. I will try my best to find them out for you.

Boracay, here I come!
