Little Something

Last Saturday, my friend, Kate and I went to Meralco Foundation Institute to enroll for a class. It’s for Macromedia Flash Animation. I will start classes on Wednesday, and I am very much excited! After we finished enrolling, we went to Robinson’s Galleria and had lunch at Burger King. I remember, my friends used to hangout there when we were in high school and college. So, after we ate, we decided to watch a movie. Underworld is showing, but we decided to see “Little Manhattan”.

The movie was so cute! It will totally remind you of your first love. If, yours was as good as mine. Well, let me tell you a bit about that later. I just want to say that if you want to feel good, watch Little Manhattan. It will make you blush, smile, feel butterflies on your stomach! like falling in love for the first time. Aww! that’s the word that you would often hear me say while watching that movie.

About my first love… well, it was 10 years ago. I was a bit young when I had my first love, I would say. His name is F. Reagan Z. Let me tell you, he was a handsome young boy, and I was just a girl, compared to all the other girls swooning over him. But, NO, I wasn’t one of those girls, ‘coz I never had a crush on him. He was, what they call, the best fish in the sea, at that time. Not only was he handsome, he was also the brightest among us. He was the valedictorian of our class. He looked to me as meztiso, with chinito eyes, he’s got this beautiful smile… and he laughed a lot ‘coz he was a bit of a class clown as well. Everyone liked him to be their friend. Anyway, I was known to be his first crush. He then pursued me. I was his friend, and then after his short-lived agony, we became more than that. So, we’re both each others’ firsts. I wish he hasn’t forgotten about me, though. Until now, thinking about him, makes me blush… Sigh!

That’s all for now, although, soon, I might, just might, be going out again…

Happy Holidays!

My family has this tradition of doing secret santa. Every year, each of us would buy a special gift for the one we’ve picked. This year, I picked my Dad. I gave him this wood-carved ashtray from Baguio. He said he really liked it. Not that I encourage him to smoke, but I knew he’d use it. My mom was the one who picked me, and she gave me a shirt with a pair of shoes on the front as the design. She knew I love shoes a lot. My sister gave me a pillow with my name on it, and the other one gave me a facial mask from St. Ives. I gave my dad a leather belt as well. I gave my sisters a bag and a pair of sunglasses, and my brother a water bottle from Spongebob Squarepants.

Here’s a little token from me to you

Happy Holidays!

This is a picture taken today with my siblings by the Christmas tree.

Me and my sibs

Thanks for everyone who sent in their greetings.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope each one of you have a blessed day.

What Happened?

Even if I was a few people short, I’d say that I had a great birthday. I was counting on all my old friends to come, and they bailed on me at the last minute. Of course, I was disappointed, but what else can you do if the excuses they make just don’t add up? Anyway, the day started with a text message from Mark, an old friend, saying that he’s wishing me a happy birthday and that he’d try to make it that night (he didn’t show up). So I just watched TV until 2am. By 6:24am, I received a phone call from Ian, asking if I will go to the office. I showed up by 8:30am with a cake for my team mates to munch on. I stayed in the office for about 2 hours, and left Christmas gifts for my buddies there. I got home by 12nn, prepared for the party that night. My cousin’s husband was the one who cooked all the food. He prepared pansit, fried chicken, mechado, imbutido and pork barbeque. My cousin, JC, and her family arrived at 8pm. They gave a watch from Bayo. I also received a watch from my mom and dad with different colored staps to match the clothes I wear, and a pair of socks from my sister. We were already singing using our videoke collection. My dad kept on asking when my friends would be arriving, since he did a lot of preparations as well. He cleaned the tables and chairs that we used. He was also the one who paid for everything.

As disappointed as I was, I just had to keep my hopes up, because I don’t really want my dad to see me sad. By 10:30pm, my guests arrived; Je’Ar, Ringo, Will and Alex. I ate with them, and my parents joined in, in the conversations. Of course, we had those “parent-to-child” talks, which was also good, ‘coz that gave my parents a chance to get to know my friends. After swapping stories, we headed to the living room. Ringo wanted to watch “Chicken Little”, so I readied the DVD. Je’Ar wanted to connect to the internet, so I had him use the computer. Everyone was still watching the movie, when I noticed that everyone had fallen asleep. I thought to myself, 2 years ago, the friends that I expected to come didn’t, and I thanked those who did; and now, it is the same thing. I guess those who came, are those who really mattered.

Baguio Special

I got home last night by 9pm. We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Baguio, and it was amazing! Ian and I met up at the mall by 12nn, Thursday, we had lunch and window shopped. By 2:30pm, we met up with Juwan, and then headed to the bus station. Our bus left by 4pm, and it takes an approximate of 6 to 8 hours before we get there. I was seated across Juwan and Ian, because the bus can only seat 2 together. We swapped stories along the way. It was quite traffic at North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), and we got hungry, luckily, there were food vendors who’d get on the bus. Our first stopover was by 7:23pm in Tarlac. I did my business while Ian and Juwan got food. The three of us fell asleep after that. At 9:34pm, we were already on the second stopover at Sison. I text messaged Kat to inform her that we were there already so she could already go to the bus terminal. By 10:45pm, we are already at the bus terminal, and Kat and her dad were already waiting for us. It is at least 20 minutes drive from the bus terminal to Kat’s house. When we got there and entered their house, I was amazed by its beauty. The house was built in 1986, an American-styled house with a fireplace, living room, dining room and kitchen, when you open the door; a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a storage room on the first landing; and another bedroom on the 2nd landing. Downstairs, there is another part of the house that has another bedroom, bathroom and a living room. It was very cold there, and even at night, you can see the fog surrounding the house. All of us just ate dinner when we got there. Kat prepared a 3 course meal, with 2 vegetables and meat. After that, we watched a bit of TV, went to the boy’s room to swap stories, and then I decided I will get ready for bed. By 2am, we were already sleeping. Well, some of us. I had a different experience.

In bed, I felt like I was floating. My eyes were closed but I couldn’t catch a snooze. I don’t know what time it was when I heard the dog’s neighbor barking really loud, and then I heard a man’s voice yelling really loud as well. It was like the dog and the man were communicating. It gave me the chills! I hid between the sheets and dared not to open my eyes. By 5am, I heard Kat’s family preparing to go to work and school. By then, I was able to sleep until 8am.

We ate breakfast and then prepared for the day. I had on a pajama-styled pants and green shirt. Fortunately, I also wore a wife beater underneath to fight the cold. We headed to Ukay-Ukay (thrift stores) first and scouted for best bargains. Juwan, Ian and I were able to score good quality sweaters and jackets; Kat and I found funky hats; and Juwan found a vintage shirt. We also went to the market to look for Baguio goodies and souvenirs. I bought 5 body bags for Kuya Norman, trinkets for my friends, and peanut brittle, strawberry jam and pili nuts for home.

By 5pm, we went to Kat’s Dad’s office to put all our good finds on their car. Her dad drove us to Camp John Hay. We had a long stroll there and took lots of pictures. We also made a stop at Starbucks Coffee, and we made sure we drank hot coffee. Juwan and I settled for Toffee Nut Latte, while Kat settled for Coffee Jelly, and Ian had none. We stayed there for a good 45 minutes, and then we headed to SM Baguio. We stayed at the very to floor to see an overview of Baguio at night. Then the sky was filled with bright colors of yellow, blue, purple, red and white. Somewhere from the town set up a fireworks display. It was really beautiful. After which, we headed to Session Road and looked for a bar where we can sit in and talk. We found a little bar called “La Fondue”. It’s located at an old building called, “La Azotea” (The Balcony). That night there were 2 acoustic soloists that played sentimental songs. We were able to talk about a lot of things, including why I really resigned from my job; we also had one beer each. By 9pm, we headed to The Nevada, which is the hottest night spot in Baguio. It a place where different bars are alongside each other and there were so many to choose from. We settled for the bar with a live band. The band’s vocalist was Kat’s drum’s instructor. The band is called “Sprikitik”, which is a show band. Although they are a show band, they sing a lot of alternative music, which is good. We stayed there for 2 hours. After that, we went to another bar in Prince Plaza, called “Cactus Bar”. The band that we caught playing is a rock band. They were amazing. The drummer caught my attention because he is really good. The beats of the drum were solid, and his bass was fast. When they sang “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath, I was so stunned by how amazing the vocalist’s voice was. The second band was pretty lame, though. The vocalists reminded us of a local artist Vhong Navarro, and our colleague, Ricky. Their first song was “Easy”, they sang it well, but the next songs were so lame that we had to get out of there!

By 12:30am, we headed back to Session Road and bought food from Chowking. We got home by 1:15am. Ian already prepared for bed while the three of us ate in front of the fireplace. We watched TV for a bit, and then the three of us got ready for bed.

Our last day was a bit rushed. After breakfast, we headed to the bus terminal to buy tickets for 1:30pm. Then we headed to “The Mansion”, the home of the president when she’s in Baguio. We also passed through the former president, Marcos’, house; Wright Park; the White House, which is a haunted house; and the last stop was Mine’s View Park, where we took lots of pictures with the beautiful view, and the dog, Big Bernard.

We headed to the bus terminal, we thanked Kat’s dad for the wonderful weekend and then rode the bus by 1:20pm. All of us felt like the vacation was really short. We planned to go to Puerto Galera by January, but I don’t know if I will go. We got back to Manila by 8:30pm, and I got home by 10pm.

My last note would be, this was my very long awaited vacation!

Life In Sales

So… I am now a Sales Consultant. Eww… Hahaha!

Everyday, I have to make 20% of computer sales. So far, so good. The highest close rate I’ve had this week is 33.33%. So I exceeded expectations, huh? But if I compare the fulfillment of being a tech support rep to a sales rep… tech support is more fulfilling, because it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I solve a person’s problems with their computers.

I like helping people. I don’t know what to call myself, but, I am the type who feels a sense of importance when I accomplish something for someone. I guess, I like helping people to feel important. That’s a realization. Pathetic. In a way, it’s a good thing.

Sigh!

Life.

Random Sh*t

Still feeling sick. Still at work.

Today we’re going to have a buddy up on the Ops area, so that’s kind of interesting. So far, I like my work and my colleagues. We had our “surprise” training finals today. I was so pissed coz the trainor didn’t even inform us about it. It would’ve been alright if she discussed the module effectively. She f*ckingly did NOT! I didn’t learn anything new. She kept on saying that we should listen to her coz the module is very important, but she wasn’t an effective trainor. She gave us an “end of module” exam, but most of us failed coz her questions are confusing. Fortunately, after averaging the scores of our class, overall, I came in second to the highest. Phew!

Here is a picture from our Friday gimmick .
Wave 106, Watering Hole : Trina, Jade, Jerric and Me.

@Gail : My trainors were Jen Dy, Jan Roy, Ed Diccioco and Jerric Cruz. My OICs for TQ are Jane, Christopher and Ernest.

@Ton : Kayo said he recognizes you from the pic on your blog.

Merry Christmas

On my birthday, I treated my co-workers to four boxes of Pizza Hut. One of them gave me balloons, and some of them gave me little somethings. Aren’t they sweet?

First off, thanks to everyone who left a comment on my previous entry. I feel better now. Thank you very much! ^_^

Yesterday, I went to The Podium, a mall in Ortigas, to meet Arnee, to talk about her website. She was so nice in person. She even paid for our lunch at Yaku,a japanese resto. I don’t even eat jap! It’s a good thing that I didn’t have to pay for it ^_+ I was also with Maye, Arnee’s mom, Paolo [ Maye’s friend, Mark and Che. Mark and I are in charge of developing the site. He will be the one to choose the images to be used, and for the audio editing that we will put in the site. It was a good 2 hours and 30 minutes meeting.

Someone asked me out at Friendster. I was like, “Hell no!” hehe.. Not exactly. I just told him it’s not a good idea. I don’t like him, and even if I did, it’s scary. I don’t know him personally, and we’ve exchange messages for like 3x only! Actually, he sends like a paragraph of messages, and I reply only a sentence. If I am in a good mood, I reply with 2 ^_+ I am not about to make Friendster a dating service!

Randomness

i watched the grand finals of “Star in a Million” last night, and i was so surprised with the result. everyone thought that sheryn reigis would win, and to my amazement, erik santos won! he sang his piece so well, so he deserved to win P1M, a house and lot and a recording contract from Star Records. sheryn, the 1st runner-up looked really disappointed and shocked, because every week’s competition, she’s always been on top. well, surprise, surprise!

friendster topic : i’ve been making a lot of testimonials lately, and i have received a handful, too. funny how some people perceive me. one person said that i was mean…and it made me wonder if i have ever been mean to her in any way, but i can’t think of any instances. i don’t know her personally. i just see her posts at teentalk before. anyway, i know i can’t please everybody, and i am not trying to please anybody.

school time once again. sigh! maybe i’d be blogging weekly, or every two days, whichever is convenient. i’ll be using computers in my school, so i guess i won’t be leaving my readers with nothing to read. not that my life is so interesting! ^_^
