Tightened Leash
Summer is actually here in the Philippines. The heat is scorching and the air is humid. I hate humidity. Yes, that means you sweat like crazy even if you’re just sitting on a chair, doing nothing. But the advantage of this season is that you have an excuse to go to the beach, and I love the beach!
But the hint of summer means the end of a semester. The end of a semester means final exams and last minute school activities submissions. I have so many things to finish for three subjects. We have 14 activities to do in MS Publisher, 2 in Macromedia Freehand and 1 Comic Strip using MS Powerpoint. Oh, the pressure!
I have been working on my school activities every chance I get. Unfortunately, my DSL connection has not been working since Friday afternoon. I called my provider and the rep said that there is a problem with the connection nodes in our area. Yesterday, the rep said that the problem has been solved, but I still can’t connect. The DSL light on my modem is unlit. That means my connection is still worthless. Argh!
Year Older
It’s my dad’s birthday last Saturday, the 17th. He’s now 53 years old. My sister and I gave him the Love: The Beatles album the night before. He tore off the plastic covering right away and played it on our stereo system. Imagine at 11pm, sound blasting from the radio while the neighbors are starting to get some sleep! My dad just love The Beatles. I actually grew up listening to them. I like the song Blackbird, Imagine1, Yesterday… and if you listen to the soundtrack of the film, I Am Sam, you will actually hear my favorite Beatles’ songs.
His party was a success. I helped out by cleaning and preparing the seafood, and I also washed the dishes. Our neighbors and relatives came and celebrated with us. I was dead tired as night came. Ryan was here, too.
Ryan said that he feels that he feels much more accepted in my family. I asked him how he can tell, he just said that he could feel it. He also said that he’s starting to warm up to my dad. I am glad that he feels that way. I know that he’s really shy around my dad. He doesn’t even want to come over when he’s here. But now that he feels more comfortable, everything is all good.

Beach + me = disaster. I swear. I’d rather swim on our kiddie pool (you know, the thing you have to fill with water — at least hindi yung ini-inflate pa haha) than hit the beach. Paranoid. Too many organisms underwater that I might kill (dahil naaapakan ko haha).
Ahh, still, vacation and beach sound tempting enough for you to do well on your activisites, right? ;) May rebate ba yung DSL mo? Tsk tsk. Excuses nga naman.
Happy belated birthday to your dad. And a Beatles record! Aaaccck! I’m definitely one of their most avid fans! Haha! ;) Good for you, your dad, and Ryan. ;)
I don’t know how B2P works. Do we need to ask for links, or are they going to just give it to us? Sighs.
