Comments on: Twilight: The movie might suck.

You’re not alone. Trust me. One word that would simplify all my thought about the movie is: dull. The book exceptionally detailed every little event, character, memory, dream from beginning to end. The movie, though, was so limited when it comes to the characters. I mean Bella is supposed to be such a unique character, but the movie makes her seem just a “normal” teenager (with issues). Maybe it’s the actress, maybe it’s the directing…I don’t know. It’s just not right!

One thing too: Edward. Edward, Edward, Edward. It’s so obvious that his face is powdered. The actor himself, IMO, isn’t all that great. I’m just going to stay at that because I know many love Robert Pattison.

I don’t quite know how to say this, but the scenes of the book are quite limited. Where’s all the graphic details? The passionate intimacy between the lovers? Guess computer graphics (CG) doesn’t do much these days!
So to sum it up–it’s the actors, the scenes, and the movie in general. The movie doesn’t effectively describe the essence, or true meaning, of the book and its happenings.

The actors did a horrible job. It was difficult to get past the bad acting. Laurent was actually really funny during the press interview I did with him. He said he read message boards and fans were upset that he was black and the book describes him as a light, olive complexion. He responded that he is like an olive…..a black olive.

Uhm, laurent was described as black in the book.

Uhm, laurent was described as black in the book. Meyer’s vampires aren’t nec. pale, they just sparkle in the sun.

The movie will be trying to portray the book as closely as possible, and it has a good chance of success, considering the author is part of the process. We’ll see i guess?

I just thought that “olive-skinned” is JLo-skinned. Not black. lol

I posted 2 comments and it never came through? lol. I was saying: what’s so surprising about a black vampire? I might be mistaken, but wasnt Laurent described as black in the books? Anyway, Akasha from Queen of the Damned was black and so was that one vampire in True Blood. Paleness isn’t what makes a vampire’s physical appearance, but looking undead.

Anyway, as I was saying, I think Laurent was described as black in the books and I dont see what’s so surprising or odd about a black vampire since paleness isn’t what describes a vampire’s physcial appearance, but looking undead. Akasha from Queen of the Damned was black and so was that one vampire in True Blood. As for the movie, whether or not it sucks, I’ll still be watching it. The boyfriend is a Twilight fan and he left a comment on a tMF article discussing the movie’s potential.
