Work Extended

We were sent a notice a month ago that our contract ends on December 14, but until now, we haven’t received a final notice. According to our accountant, we should continue working until further notice. I am really confused. I know I should be happy that I still have a job, but lately, all I do is edit eBooks, which is not in my job description. I had to use eBookpro to make sure that the eBooks are secure and can only accessed by a unique username and password, which I generated.

After next week, I’d probably ask for part time hours from them. I want to move on. I think it’s about time. I’ve grown to hate what I’m doing. It’s sad, really. I didn’t mean for me to feel bad about my job, but heck, after making me think I am losing it – and adjusted myself before it actually happened – made me realize that I could actually move on and be happy to do so.

Good luck to me!

Good luck on the change. Some people, like myself, are so afraid of change that even unhappy I would stick to something. It’s really good that you’re so positive about change and so ready for it! Makes me envious. Good luck on finding a better and more satisfying job.

I hate it when people alert me to something imminent and then fail to keep up on updating me about the situation, expecting me to just wait until further notice… but, at least you’ve resolved yourself psychologically to impending change, so you’re ready and willing to go for it when the time finally comes.

Whenever that is, good luck moving on in your career!
