Since I quit my previous job and moved on, I’ve been on the lookout for a new and better opportunity. Last December, I was fortunate enough to work on a freelance project with my friend, Kate. The client we worked for was satisfied with our produced results that he wanted to hire both of us for the company he started here in Manila.
I met, for the second time, my new boss yesterday. He’s from the UK. He is easy to talk to and there is no I’m the boss — you’re the employee vibe at all. I will be working from home and I need not report to our office, unless needed. I just have to submit a weekly progress report via email.
During our meeting, I have mentioned that I am currently reading the Harry Potter series, when he said, “You know the Weasley twins? My son is best friends with the one who portrayed George Weasley, well, actually, he is friends with both of them.” How cool is that? I nearly asked for an autograph, but I remembered, I am only reading the series via my PSP through eBooks. Ha!
Work starts on Monday, and I am looking forward to it. Thank goodness for better opportunities!
